The song is a solo performance by Megara as she reflects on her feelings for the title character, Hercules. The lyrics express Megara's inner conflict, as she struggles to admit her feelings for him and her fears of being too vulnerable. The song was composed by Alan Menken and lyrics written by David Zippel. It was produced by Chris Montan and arranger Danny Troob. The track was recorded at Walt Disney Studios and mastered at The Mastering Lab in Hollywood, California.
