"Confessions Part II" is a song by American singer-songwriter Usher, released as the second single from his fourth studio album, Confessions. It was written by Usher, Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, and produced by Dupri and Cox. The song is a sequel to the lead single, "Confessions Part I", and continues the story of a man who, after confessing to his mate about having impregnated another woman, pleads for her forgiveness. The song was released as a CD single on August 24, 2004 in the United States, and became a chart success. It peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine consecutive weeks, becoming Usher's sixth number-one single in the US. It also peaked at number one in Australia, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The accompanying music video was directed by Chris Robinson and features Usher pleading his case to a woman in a restaurant in the form of a music video.
