"Welcome Home, Son" is a song by American singer-songwriter Radical Face. It was released as the lead single from his second studio album, The Family Tree: The Roots, in 2007. The song is a melancholic folk-pop anthem, featuring guitar and piano-driven melodies and emotive, introspective lyrics. The narrator of the song is welcoming a loved one back home with an open heart, despite all the pain that has happened in the past. The production of the song was handled by Ben Cooper, who is also the lead singer of Radical Face. The song was recorded on a 4-track tape machine at Cooper's home in Florida. It was later mixed at a professional studio in Los Angeles.

"Speak Too Soon" is a song by Canadian folk-rock group Wild Rivers. It was released as the lead single from the band's self-titled debut album, released in March 2016. The track was produced by Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Cave Singers) and co-produced by Wild Rivers. The song is a mid-tempo folk-rock track, driven by a steady and upbeat rhythm section and bright acoustic guitar. Lead singer Niva Chow's lyrics explore the idea of not letting fear get in the way of taking risks, as she sings: "It's easy just to stand back, guard your heart and wait it out/ Don't let yourself be scared of what you can't control". The chorus contains a message of hope and resilience, with Chow singing: "We'll be alright, even if we speak too soon".
