"Strawberry Fields Forever" is a song by the English rock band The Beatles. It was released in 1967 as a double A-side single with "Penny Lane". The song was written by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney songwriting partnership. It was inspired by Lennon's childhood memories of playing in the garden of Strawberry Field, a Salvation Army children's home near where he grew up in Liverpool. The song was recorded by George Martin at Abbey Road Studios in two distinct versions. The first was recorded in November 1966, and the second in February 1967. The Beatles combined the two recordings, creating a hybrid version that featured a unique structure and melody. The song features complex instrumentation and several vocal parts, including a prominent oboe melody. The single version was remastered in 2009 and released on the remastered version of the album "Magical Mystery Tour". The remastered version features a cleaner and more dynamic sound compared to the original release. The remastered version features a re-recorded oboe part, as well as improved vocal performances.
